Privacy Policy

StudiHelp is operated from Indonesia. This explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
What we collect
If you have an account:
- Your email address and an encrypted password
- Whether you signed up as a teacher or a learner
- The decks, cards, courses and recordings you create
- Your study history — which cards you reviewed, how you rated them, roughly how long you spent
- Your public profile, if you create one, and only once you publish it
If you study through a shared link without an account:
- The name you type in — which can be a first name or a nickname
- A random identifier stored in your browser, so returning to the link keeps your progress
- Your study history for that deck
We don't ask students for an email address, and that random identifier isn't linked to any account. Clearing your browser data removes it, and your progress with it.
Photographs and PDFs
Images and PDFs you upload are sent to a text-recognition service to extract the text, and that text is sent to an AI model to generate cards. We don't keep the original file after processing — only the cards you choose to save.
Who we share data with
We don't sell your data. We use these services to run StudiHelp:
- Cloud hosting and database providers — to run the service and store your account, decks and recordings
- A text-recognition provider — to read the text from images and PDFs you upload
- AI model providers — to turn that text into flashcards
- A payment processor — if you subscribe. We never see or store your card details.
These providers process data only to deliver the service, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. If you need to know which specific providers we use — for a school procurement review, for example — ask us and we'll tell you.
What teachers can see
If you study a deck a teacher shared with you, that teacher can see the name you entered, how many cards you've learned, your accuracy, roughly how long you've studied, and when you were last active. They cannot see your email address, and for students without an account there isn't one to see.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept while your account exists. Deleting your account deletes your decks, cards and study history. Anonymous student records are kept while the teacher keeps the deck, and a teacher can remove a student at any time.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us and we'll respond within 30 days.
Children
StudiHelp accounts are not intended for children under 13. Students may study through a shared link without an account, and in that case we collect only a name they choose and their study progress. Teachers are responsible for whatever permission their school or a student's guardians require.
Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored with our hosting providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and give notice if the change is significant.
